Roadrunners Came to Dinner

“One of the life's mysteries is how a two pound box of candy can make a person mal1gain five pounds.”

Another gorgeous day in paradise. That would describe Wednesday in Southern California. And, it was gorgeous. We’ve been in this park now a total of four nights and I’d like to put the brakes on time so we can just stay here a little longer. There aren’t many places we’ve been that we really wanted time to slow female1adown but this is it. We loved it here last year and we’re loving it again this year. Other parts of the country have been hammered with weather. We’ve been in some of it. However, we’ve also discovered even though this area may get some of it, it moves out pretty fast. If we had to vote for a perfect winter destination, this would be it.

We’re slowly taking our dinette booth out and hoping to replace it with a comfortable chair. The booth is rarely used as a dining table … rarely … and it takes up so much room. We pulled out one side of it yesterday and positioned it in front of the coach hoping someone else would want to add a dinette to their unit. We have no takers yet. I put a picture on the bulletin board hoping I’d find someone that might be interested. Instead of saying “free” I offered it for sale at $20. Actually, we might pay them $20 but if I said that, people would be leery. So at $20 we’ll negotiate … lots.

The barbecue yesterday was a huge success. Aren’t they all? All you need is good people and lots of food. We had plenty of that. Paul and Marsha were staying down the road at the Fantasy Casino so drove the five miles to where we are at. We barbecued steaks at Janice and Jerry’s (they have our patio, remember). The food just kept coming as it usually does when we meet up with nice folks we know. Between the steak, rice pilaf, Jell-O, macaroni salad and rolls, we had no room left for the key lime pie or banana split. Maybe we’ll have those today. It was an absolutely great time. We all went home stuffed.

Our entertainment was provided by two friendly roadrunners who came to eat dinner with ustakingphotos . The male and the female posed for our photos and hung around as long as they were being fed. I’m sure they were as curious about us as we were about them. This photo is of everyone getting in the act trying to photograph the roadrunners. Here you see Terry (with his camera phone), Marsha and Janice taking photos of the roadrunners.

Today is another great day in paradise and we’ll make the most of it I’m sure.
