“Why didn't Noah swat those two mosquitoes?”
If activity is what you’re looking for, yesterday was full of it. Jerry had signed us up as a foursome for the Thousand Trails golf event at the Palm Royale Country Club. Our plans were to meet about 8:00 AM and follow them, However, at 7:30 Jerry and Janice showed up. I think he had a premonition that this would be a great day.
And, it was.
It was a beautiful day. Golf courses around Palm Springs are gorgeous. Condos surrounded the golf course and an extra $1 was added to our tab for insurance just in case one of our balls broke a window. Our goal wasn’t to hit anything but many times we came close. Actually, if we were going to give a prize for getting the closest to collecting on the insurance, Janice would win. She did hit the scree
n in a patio window even though it didn’t break. I hit a rock that bounced and almost hit a swan but the swan wasn’t insured. Terry hit a tree but the bark remained intact. Janice would win that competition.
Now the questions is - what did Jerry hit? He didn’t hit anything. Jerry got a hole in one. Notice the spelling on that. It was Jerry and not Jeri. He shot across the water, around a sand trap and to the green behind the bushes. The answer to his question, “where did my ball go” brought lots of excitement from him. The ball
went in the hole! It was a perfect hole-in-one!
Congratulations, Jerry ------>
After golf we headed east on I-10 to Quartzsite. We still had a few items at the consignment shop and wanted to pick those up … or the cash. So, off we went. The trip took about 5 hours. A lot had changed in Quartzsite since we had left. The Big Tent was down and there were lots of parking places in front of the vendors. And, quite of few of those vendors had already left. Even the traffic had greatly improved. Now we have that trip behind us
and don’t have to worry about going back through there.
An upside down duck ----->
Upon our return to our park we jumped in the 86 degree water in the swimming pool and floated away. It was wonderful. Then, we topped off the evening relaxing in the hot tub.
This is what vacation is all about. We are on vacation. Aren't we?
