Cradlepoint Router and Algodonas Glasses

“Accept that some days you are the pigeon and some days the statue.”

What happened yesterday? Golly, I have to really think to come up with something interesting. I guess to start off the park had a garage sale. Balloons were given to RV’ers who wanted to put a few items out front and man-the-station in front of their RV. We’ve always have a few extra things we’ve added and a few extra things we’d like to get rid of. One side of our table was give-aways and the other side had a price. We actually got rid of everything fairly early. We sold the items we wanted to and the freebies we didn’t have a taker for, we trashed. I’m sure we’ll be at least ten pounds lighter going down the road.

I’ve been having a lot of problems with my cradlepoint router. I have 3 air cards …. one USB air card and two express air MBR1000_Angle_newcards. All of them work perfectly when connected directly to my laptop. However, only one works when plugged into the router. The USB one doesn’t work at all and one of the express cards indicates there is DNS Poisoning. At first I struggled with this thinking it was just as the warning indicated. So, I tried my other laptop … same thing. I tried all kinds of things to try to get my preferred express card to work. It works but only directly in the laptop and according to documentation, it is supported by the router. Hmmm. I bought a new MBR1000 Cradlepoint yesterday hoping to fix the problem. Same thing. Not sure what I’m going to do today about it. I’ll probably start with a phone call to Cradlepoint.

Algodonas, Mexico is known for low prices on dentists,Eyeglasses prescriptions and eyeglasses. It’s already on our route as we intend to be there next week. I had talked to folks who had purchased new glasses and were very happy with them. This is what I was going to do. However, yesterday we discovered a shop in Palm Desert that actually tries to compete with prices in Algodonas. The only thing they can’t compete with are brand-name frames such as Versace, Chanel, etc. They have to sell the real thing and Algodonas can sell knock-offs. The store advertises an all-inclusive price of $99. So, I bit the bullet and have a new pair of glasses to pick up today. At that price, I couldn’t resist. However, I did upgrade the frames so it was a bit more but still a good deal. And, I’m thinking I might get a pair of sunglasses in Algodonas …. just because.

A stop on the way back and we thought we were back at the Sistine Chapel. Mario’s Italian Cafe in Palm Desert is a great little family owned restaurant. The food was great and servers very attentive. The ceiling was painted to resemble the Sistine Chapel in Italy. It was a cute little restaurant. We had pizza but we still say the best pizza in the whole wide world is in a little shop in Mexico Beach, Florida called Beach Pizza.

We had a few light showers yesterday and the weatherman has promised they’ll go away early this morning. So, we’re holding him to it. Other than that we’re off to get an oil change and do practically nothing.
