After the rotten food we experienced at the Texas BBQ in Quartzsite the night before, we decided there were a few more restaurants in town we had to review. Actually, we've taken it upon ourselves to review all these restaurants. Why? That's a simple one to answer ... we like to eat and they're here.

Janet's Kitchen wasn't actually planned. We saw it and like a bolt of lightening just knew we had to eat there. The outside is bright red so it kind of catches your eye as you drive by. Also, being on the main drag in town and next to the post office helps because it's hard to miss. It was noon-ish so timing was perfect. And, what a pleasant surprise it was. The inside was clean, service was fast and friendly. We liked it. Actually, I had been hungry for a salad and that's what I got ... a scrumptious chef's salad. Terry opted for the hot roast beef sandwich and it was good too. We'll be back but maybe for breakfast next time. Compared to the meal the night before .. no comparison.

And, for dinner? You guessed it ... more food and another gathering. This time it was kind of a potluck affair. Everyone provided their own meat and brought an extra dish. We ate, learned a little more about each other and enjoyed another evening around the campfire. Our circle has continued to grow. We now have eleven RVs in our area with more to come. What a great group! The problem with being in a group is that everyone passes around their out-of-work cards (a new term I learned). These cards include web addresses f
or all the blogs. I'm sure you get the picture. We have to say nice stuff.
The first activity on the agenda for today was meeting prior to sunrise (7:15 AM) for an early morning walk. You know how that goes don't you? Even though I'm up every morning before the crack of dawn, I kept waking up all night checking the time. I was sure this was the one morning I would sleep in. I didn't but now I'm ready for a nap and we haven't even had our morning activity yet!
Oh well, off to another day of adventure. And, Quartzsite is definitely an adventure. We have lots of stories to tell but hardly have time to tell time. If we had the time to tell them, would we dare? What happens in Quartzsite, stays in Quartzsite! Hahaha -- that's what they think!
Life is good.
