On Sunday we had two more RV's pull in bringing the current total to seven with more expected on Monday and more on Tuesday. There are others but no one has a clue when to expect them. Janice & Jerry are from Georgia and Doug & Toni are Canadians. The circle is growing.
We did get our RV Motion Sensor installed. However, we noticed that ours seems to stay on while others go off and on. It might be time to get out the directions and read them. However, Eric commented that the directions are only one man's view on how things should be done. So, with a chuckle we may not bother reading the instructions and just have another man look at it. Not having visited the Texas BBQ in town we figured it was time to try it out. After all, we have really enjoyed eating at all the other places in town. However, after our visit last night, the only word of advice I would give is don't bother. It comes highly unrecommended! My baked potato was great. It was warm and cooked just right. The cornbread was stale and dry, the barbecue beef wasn't good and the glass of water tasted like unfiltered Arizona faucet water. I think one person indicated the ribs they ordered were good. No one else had much good to say about the meal. Well, been there, done that and don't need to go back.
There is one must see at the Texas BBQ. It's actually the restroom that sits at the end of the red carpet around the side of the building. It definitely is a must see. The restroom is in an old travel trailer that has been converted. The shower is now the sink, there's a sitting area and, of course, the commode. To top it off, the restaurant menu is posted within perfect sight just in case you're going to be there a while and need reading material. I tried to get a decent picture of it inside but just couldn't do it so the rest is left to your imagination.
Joyce and Don rode with us so leaving the restaurant we wanted to show them where the laundry was ....... and, took a side trip to the Reader's Oasis Bookstore. The bookstore has a very unique character. Actually, this character is probably one of the biggest reasons the bookstore parking lot is full. His nickname is 3 Socks and he wears 3 socks most of the time. Yep, that's all he usually wears. It's a hoot and a must stop. I'm sure lots of books are sold and just as many pictures of him are taken. I took a picture of the store not of him. After al
l, I have to be a good example for my grandkids or my daughter-in-law won't let them read my blog!!! She should be proud of me. The restraint was tremendous!!
We ended the evening around another campfire. It's fun when everyone shares.
Things are good.
